Yes. WAV is the best type for sound quality. more wav files=less song quantity.

mp3 files go up 320kbps and you can change them to higher mp3 quality using itunes-rightclick-switch to aac version. 360kbps is pretty decent for listening.

You can go from WAV(lossless) to mp3(lossy) but can't go mp3 to WAV(lossless)

Well yeah WAV if they are direct being ripped from a CD onto compuer then put on drive. You can't take mp3 and convert to WAV and get better quality. Also, highest is 320kbps not 360kbps like said earlier.

THis 320k mp3 shit pisses me off.

People say use 320 but use a crappy codec like LAME. A 128k file with a good codec (MP3enc, GoGo, or L3enc) will sound tons better than 320k file encoded with LAME. Just sayin, people.

WMA is better if your deck can handle it, AAC even better.

WAV > every other format mentioned here, as long as your deck can handle the format. I like FLAC because it's mathematically identical to the CD but smaller than WAV, but nothing plays them.
