IH8PunkRok
like i said in the beginning, this is experimental. Todays woofers are not like the woofers of the past and i don't know that they like being "clamshelled" like that. very good observation the high xmax of todays subs causes linearity issues when mounted isobaric Blues car audio did something that may help in this situation though keep the woofers in phase, just one behind the other, and enclose the cone of the back woofer and basket of the front woofer. meade916
ok i tried it in a brand new Audi hatchback. The verdict is, it sounds pretty damn good!! It does NOT sound aweful...but i need to make the ports bigger, seal every panel as if i am going to keep the box, and then try again. A leaky bandpass box is a shitty bandpass box and this thing is leaking everywhere lol - but it STILL sounded good. So i will experiment all week this week with it and decide by next weekend if i will keep it or not. why a bandpass you ask? why not ported? i would LOVE to just do a ported box but getting the bass into the cabin is a problem with this car. I don't want to settle with just aiming the box backward. A proper bandpass will allow me to port up into the deck with just a few holes. That is already more then i want to do to my brand new car. (still new to me!). I usually save the butchering for after i have the pink-slip in my hand lol. 2 Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! Thanks though, glad to see other people searching this out after i brought it from the dead LOL Anyway, if i FAIL, at least i tried......and i have been wanting to try this for a while, but with 18's LOL!! 1 Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel!
