wmrcs
What is it about playing under the tuning of your box that is hard on the sub? This possibly resulted from it: Quote E34 540iT/
bobobass
It's almost like free airing it, you will reach any subs mechanical limits much faster playing under your tuning. You probably bottomed out the coil. V8SRSLO
playing under tune causes the sub to unload ,maxing out excursion= hard on spiders, surround, voice coil if it bottoms , during this the cone can distort ,tear, hit the winding Quote glad to see you made it to the forum.. i had a feeling you would chime in on this. there are some real knee slappers that happen in this sub forum.. so be prepared. wmrcs
I played this sub under tuning fairly regularly, but it barely moved with the amount of power I had on it. And my set up has been o scoped and everything, minimal clipping on the sub. I don't understand how it separated.. Quote E34 540iT/
