I'll agree, some very awkward and ignorant statements made...homosexuality a disease? Brain disorder? Marriage a religious ceremony? I think you should research your history buddy. It began as a legal contract, and as such is an institution governed by the state. Until a little twat came along, Bishop Ignatius of Antioch, who said that marriage should be ordained by God and be between a man, woman, and god. So, without getting into religion or the uselessness of it, they took what was a government institution and made it a religious thing. Greece and Rome were already marrying same sex couples, it was only an issue with the simplistic view that created the western culture. Either way, this was about Obama and his flip flopping. If you have a religion that does not condone homosexuality then don't allow gay marriage in your church. I look at those court house marriages as this, its a "legal union between two consenting adults" . nothing more. gender should be irrelevant. All it is to the state is a different tax code and possible name change. Making marriage legal isn't the same as saying churches have to marry homosexuals, they still have the right to refuse to do them.
