Bump4life Posted May 22, 2012 Report Share Posted May 22, 2012 (edited) Ok so here is my dilema. I want big bass, but my trunk space is an issue plus the actual opening to get into trunk. So my options are to build a big box in trunk, or fit a smaller box in through rear seats cut through. I am going to be rolling with 2 DD 9500f motors. My decision is 12s or 10s. I know the 12s could be louder because of cone area. But what if my airspace is low. I have about 1.9 maybe 2 cubes max net per woofer. From experience, I know these subs love their air. But does anyone know the point where the 9510s in the optimal box would out preform their bigger brothers in a less than desireable box size? All the DD guys lets hear some input. Other experienced members too! Ray, if your out there, some trusted expert advice would be appreciated. What way should I be leaning? And when choosing one, what kinda box should I be looking at? the subs will be fired forward and trunk sealed off. Any cool crazy box design ideas from some of the box gurus on here? I though oh yea 2 12s no problem. the height is only 15 to the roof of trunk so i can only do 14.5 height. and 34.5 width is max and depth is 23 maybe 24 but then im craming amps and batts behind. and that would require me to build box in trunk. What do you guys do about a spare tire for your daily drivers? plus my stock battery is in trunk. I am in college and travel a lot too. plus i want it to be a trunk build. everyone and their brother has a wall. I want to be an impressive daily pounder. Id be content if i did over 145 dbs. right now unsealed with 2 2510s sc i did 143.1. It sounds great too, but I need a little more.
