TeamHT
Anyone willing to help a home theater noob? I am looking for two towers, will house two of my FI Qs, one each, with whatever else I need. Not sure exactly what I need but the setup is for gaming, movie watching, and music for parties which do get downright nasty. Feel free to PM Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you? bkolfo4
Polk is a nice store bought speaker. I still have a pair of SDA-1C's back when Polk was hi end in the 80's! Ian Stith
Mains are a rebuilt pair of a Fisher Spears, no idea of the model name, rebuilt them 5 years ago, labels and memory have disappeared. 2x Ultimate: pW1550 15 inch Sub woofers, 410wrms to the both of them. they start to drop off at ~24 hertz, play well up to about 200 if need be. Receiver: Pioneer VSx-521 powering my mains. Using this, the Sub woofers are crossed over at 80 hertz for music 50 hertz for movies Sources: Technics sl-pd887, Custom build gaming computer (audio card Asus Xonar dg) TV: Sony Bravia 47" (1980x1020) Matching blue ray player. Record player: Fisher MT-6117 original head. Total about 1600 watts to those who have the impression that that means anything Edit: added Pictures first is the left side Second is the right side Im a broke student. still manage to have a pretty good system though.. ds1919
Ive downscaled, I used to have a full Carver system with C1 pre, two M200T's running in mono, Carver CD player etc etc, silver sonic rca and speaker wiring, Rega Planar II and AR1 going to home made Focal floor speaks and a 18" sub.. Now I have some small homemade bookshelves using TangBand 4" with 1/2" tweeter, powered by a 100w Dayton Audio class T amp, cheap homemade 12" dvc sub powered by AB Internation pro audio 200w amp, all coming out of a Carver Surround Sound Processor (old school). Its a way smaller footprint, and sounds really good. its tuned just right. Oh and four bass shakers in my couch....
Justin248
I don't have anything to outrageous as I'm saving money for college, but I have 2 bookshelves I built using one GRS 6PF-8 mid in each paired with a Goldwood GT-1005 tweeter. I have an older (90's) Pioneer speaker for the center with a Kicker CVR 12 being ran off of a Kenwood KAC-1502S powered by a 450 watt PSU. All of this is being ran by an Onkyo TX-NR509 through an optical from my computer. I have not heard any audiophile setup's, nor have I heard anything geared towards SPL but I believe for the price I paid for everything it is unbeatable.
