TerryBallou-Crawford
I have the opportunity to buy what I believe is a Memphis Mojo 12" dual 2 ohm sub in a custom box for a JL Audio 13W7 with a plate for the 12". He originally lists this sub (Memphis) as a mojo, but when I asked him if he still had it, he said it wasn't a mojo. He sent me pictures and as near as I can tell, it's a mojo. It has an orange basket with the M shape. Has a good sized motor with bolts in it, which I have been told (by the internet...) that it is a mojo. This is what I believe it is: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_10346_Memphis-15-M3MOJO12.html Here are actual pictures including the basket and cone: Basket: http://www.4shared.com/photo/u3qLcCuQ/2012-06-0195221200.html Cone/Front: http://www.4shared.com/photo/u93cX1lg/2012-06-0395163231.html Is this at all correct?: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20120307181646AAsNGGO Any help is appreciated. TerryBallou-Crawford
He acts like he doesn't have it. He bought it from a guy that told him it was a mojo. but someone else told him it wasn't, so he's not sure. If I can't figure it out, I'll take a scale and weigh it. Sonic says it weighs 43 pounds. 727Designs
I can't look at the pics here at work but going by the description it's an M3 Mojo. Introduced right after they switcvhed from the 4 spoke basket Mojo's. Memphis referred to them as an M3 Mojo but most people just called them the M3's (There was a regular M3 also, but motor size alone can tell them apart). Still a decent sub, but not on the level of the older Mojo IMO. Edited to clear up something that may have looked confusing. Not all M3's where Mojo's, but I've seen several people refer to M3 Mojo's as just M3's. Tarball
Look at the thickness of the magnet and also the distance between the surround and the center cap. Even that M3 Mojo is beefier than the pic you posted. That is a regular M3.
