AQ sdc 2.5 15's Box Suggestions

Recommended Posts

So i would like to construct a new box for these 2 15's. Currently i have sub sub and port up. Just looking for some ideas of fellow members here.

My current box dimensions. In the spec sheet the height and depth dimensions are swapped.

if you can't do subs up port back, do subs up port AT the back, like along the back firing up along the window.

I may try that... it was suggested to me from someone on here before to have the port down center of the box like i have now. I dont remember why they said it but it was said so i tried it. what would it benefit from having port along the back vs to the side?

I can Say having the port back is the way to go if you looking for deep rich bass. I have a AQ HDC3 15 and have tried many configurations( Except sub up-port back). sub up-port up is loud in the driver seat cause you can here the bass from the face of the sub and the port, but port back moves more air, is not as loud in the driver's seat, but produces a deeper more felt bass. Mines in a tahoe so it has the hatch back too. From the looks of things, I would make the box taller slighty and wider and less deeper if going port back. You want a minimum of 4-7 inches of clearance from the port to the hatchback. or scale down and built a optimum box for one 15 if running out of space for two. IMO

if i were you stick with what you have and toy around with the box, you can go upto 6cuft net each with thoes subs

idd aim for 8.5 net 140sq" of port @ 40hz (or low if you prefer, are you happy with the current tune?)

unless your happy to wall them in that case 10net @ 160sq" or 12net @ 190sq" 40-42hz
