hdorre
I sold my SAZ-3k, and am looking to start off with a more affordable/smaller system. I have very little cargo area lol I may upgrade to something bigger in a few months. Anyway, I was researching little subs that get loud. I came across SA-8 v2s. Those subs seem to be one of the most power handling musical 8s currently in the market. To power the pair of 8s, I was looking at the Rockford Fosgate T1500-1bdCP. Is the whole "Constant Power" thing a gimmick, or is it actually beneficial? Im not looking to waste any money, but if it works, then Id gladly spend it. Has anyone clamped CP amps, or have any results? Also, I have an old RF Punch 2 channel. Its louder with the bass knob. Are the new power series amps the same way? Thanks guys. OrionStang
If you MUST wire to 2 or 4 ohms it is beneficial. But at 1 ohm, CP's are the same as the previous model. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread

But at 1 ohm, CP's are the same as the previous model. actually when you consider the amount of box rise that your amp does not "see", it is a truly different amp then the previous model. Its NOT a gimmick, its the real deal. Don't mistake this technology for that old JL audio thing everyone tries to compare it to. This is totally different. sprkn_ranger
They also help fight against box rise, so you can wire at 1 ohm and if you rise to say 3 or 4 your power to the subs only drop a lil bit.
