RF Constant Power a gimmick?

it has never caused any issues for me at all. Other than the time my ground was loose :)

 Thats good to hear.

DAMN!!! I knew those 8's were badass, but holy crap. I didn't think they could take all that. I wonder long they would last being pushed like that.

Me too.. maybe Ill find out.

OK, where can I read about box rise, since I've never heard of it before 5 minutes ago.

Try searching. There's a bar in the upper right corner of every SMD webpage.

remember if the amp gets hot its doing its job. its a heat sink.

You bring up a good point.

I clamped my T2500-1bdcp two weeks ago. Wired to .5 nominal on my XL's.

2564 watts rising to 1.6-ohms at 42Hz dropping to 12.2V.

I was very happy with those results. Birthsheet said 3,3XX watts, but that was also at 14.4V with no rise. Rated power at 1.6-ohms and 12.2V works for me.

Id be happy just to get rated. I wouldnt think twice about the birthsheet. Thanks for sharing your clamp test.

Has anyone else clamped a Constant Power amp?

Can you wire to 2 ohm and re clamp the amp would love to see those results

Me too!

Guys, I was just thinking.. Ill be using my Rockford 3Sixty.2.. If the amp is too much, I could have the subs at -(0-40) dBr. Ill compete, so for daily driving Ill quiet down the subs with the 3Sixty, but before shows have them at -0 dBr.

Amps getting hot? No way. Try running an old school quarter ohm stable cheater amp. Turn on your AC because it's gonna get hot in there. I kid you not haha. You'll get burnt just from touching it for a moment.

2015 Subaru Outback. That is all, I refuse to touch it.

not sure, never sent it off for repair. but i will for sure, id love to be able to squeeze 4 of the SA-8" V.2s under the back seat ported on the T2500BDCP but i dont know if i have the room.

Oh, okay. It'll probably be a tight fit. Good luck.

If you MUST wire to 2 or 4 ohms it is beneficial. But at 1 ohm, CP's are the same as the previous model.

actually when you consider the amount of box rise that your amp does not "see", it is a truly different amp then the previous model. Its NOT a gimmick, its the real deal. Don't mistake this technology for that old JL audio thing everyone tries to compare it to. This is totally different.

This is very true. The CP's design allows it to combat box rise more than most any other amp.

Ed, do you care to briefly explain how "Constant Power" works, or is it really complicated?

Is the gain essentially just automatically changed as impedance and frequency change?

ive got a t1500.1bdcp wired at 1ohm powering 2 t2 12s never clamped or anything but it does get hot, only on the outer edge while the center is warm but still easily touchable. if im not mistaking though isnt the outer edge the heat sink? which is why it would be hot.

t1500bdcp

2 t2d4 15"

1 t600.4

1 t400.2

1 set p1 tweets

singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
