Kyblack76
Ya, it seems like it is gonna do what it's gonna do. Kinda odd. We have yet to play with our vent. Never touched it since the loading wall went in. I'm curious to see what if anything happens. I'm with you, get some useable power and see what happens. Man I wish I could be there. Love to have several beers with ya, and learn. Stay On it bro. SMD SUPER SELLER The Burban Build Blazer Build sold Acura trunk build sold
hdorre
This looks to be getting down! Nice work Now for the two questions/concerns. I've always had 2-3x rise with my flat walls. 4ths however, rise a lot more. Sure, you may be down in output but I'm sure your passband is much wider. That's why I switched from my 4th too. There's nothing like giving demos jumping from like 23 to 50hz with ease and authority. I've played with a few different tunings for my 4th... Resonance (42hz for me), 48hz, and 50hz. While you'd expect a higher tuning to be best, tuning to my rear resonance excelled. Have you tried shrinking your rear more? The fact that your peak lowered sorta hints to me that you gained cone control a tad. I know that my 15s (Zv4 Rev2 15 with 5 layer spiders) are nothing like your subs, but 2 cubes net per is money. I wish you the best of luck! I wish you the best of luck! thanks, I have thought about moving down to about 8 and trying that. And you are right, there isnt that significant drop off when changing frequencies, I can go from 55 to 48 to 38 to 32 to 29 without any frequency being noticeably different loudness wise (they all maintain a good level of authority) Best Score to Date : 160.5 dB Outlaw (47Hz)[4 XM 15's & 2 Taramps Bass 12k's] BL : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147800-chevyboy95s-4-15s-7krms-wall-1533-db-on-half-power/YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/hitemwiththeflex/
ChevyBoy95
Got it up .5dB by playing with the port area (and tuning as a result). Ended up with a 157.6. I think I just need more power to "meter well" with this system that is meant to have a big bandwidth. Made the chart (typo on 157.5, meant 157.6) at the bottom to plot my progress (data) as the future goes on and as I play with it. And if anything building a 4th needs any reference, it might help as well. corona_jeff
Hey man I may have some experience with a woofer that's similar. I think your sealed side is a tad big.
ChevyBoy95
Probably, I could go down to about 8, but not sure how much I want to give just to chase a number in a daily driven vehicle. Mainly, I dont want to loose my upper 20's authority. It is something I plan to try in the future and see how it changes things. Thanks for the tip, seriously. Just wonder what it would do with more power since at my peak im probably getting 3kw. corona_jeff
I haven't tested numbers down low, but I can say it's brutal in the high 20s and peaks in mid 40s. If remember right the sealed side is 1.9 per sub.

If remember right the sealed side is 1.9 per sub. Will be changing to the bass 12k's for amps mainly for head room, will be daily'd at 2 ohms (~7kw) opposed to the ~8kw currently per amp, but will have the option at shows to wire down to .5 per amp and not get destroyed due to rise. Probably shrink the rear again while Im waiting on amps. ChevyBoy95
Added some panels to the back and upped the power to 2 12k's. Burps will at .5 per (this series can burp at .25). This is to offset my massive rise. Music/daily wise will be seeing about the same power as the 8k's (will have a secondary LC1 in the rear to dial it back to "daily mode") Best Score to Date : 160.5 dB Outlaw (47Hz)[4 XM 15's & 2 Taramps Bass 12k's] BL : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147800-chevyboy95s-4-15s-7krms-wall-1533-db-on-half-power/YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/hitemwiththeflex/
DLHgn
How are you going to set it to daily mode with the LC1?
