jakeryan
No no no no You guys got it all wrong. That's just showing what the ohms do when you wire it. Like wiring 2 speakers at 8 ohms in series would double the impedance. and wiring it in parallel would half it. So you start at 8 ohms and wire up and down for the string of speakers. (which is why I show 8 then 16 than 8 again. cause it's being doubled, then halved.) B.T.T.M -Jake Ryan
jakeryan
I'm not stupid enough to not stick and pick with an impedance......that's the first rule of audio! If you want to buy speakers of different sizes to power with an amp...they all have to match impedances. I was just showing the process of what happens to the impedance when you wire it that way. jakeryan
There I fixed it! I could see how that was probably really confusing. B.T.T.M -Jake Ryan

Wicks
Sorry but your invention is flawed. 1.) According to your diagram, all your subs are in parallel with your polarity switching every couple of speakers which means half of your speakers are out of phase with the others (unless you're inverting half the subs to compensate). 2.) Your diagram shows 11 speakers. How could you get an even load with an odd number of speakers? I'm assuming you're using 8ohm subs? The only way I could see this happening is with 10 8ohm subs in parallel (0.8ohms) with another 8ohm speaker in series to give you 8.8ohms which you're rounding down...? Have you actually measured this load with an ohmmeter (DMM)? Guest
i've never heard of being able to have the same ohm load with series and parallel wiring types. probably cause its not possible, until maybe you combine series and parallel. but i dont know i suck at wiring subs. i rely on diagrams haha. mainly from the12volt
