ncc74656
i have a pro box builder making a box for my new 18" fi bl. he built it to there specs with in a 4% margin yet the sub is unable to produce any notes out side of its specific tune frequency (36hz) with any degree of clarity. The box had 3 ports at 4" which he then built a 4th port to keep the proper spec for air flow. the box is built out of 1" mdf, the sub is recessed in the box with a board over the front of the box to enclose the sub. it is built to fit with in a 28X21X36 inch space. i would like to know what people have done with boxes for this sub and what there specs where. thanks. nothing, gutted

ALPINE408
Even the ports sound like a fail why would you build 3 ports and later add a 4th to meet proper spec for air flow Even better where are you getting your box and "Air flow specs"???? Have you ever had your woofers blown?
