alaskanzx5 Posted July 28, 2012 Report Share Posted July 28, 2012 I just don't know how they would enforce a ban on texting, I mean what if I am just hitting next song on my iPod which is technically not texting and driving although still distractive it's not illegal and there is no way to prove one way or the other if I have my phone in my pocket, it is just my word against what the policeman thinks he saw That is my only problem with a texting ban get a h/u with ipod control and a remote. proplem solved. dont have to look at anything to change songs or volume. thats why they make cd players with those functions. I hate it if I'm in a car and the driver is txting. I tell them to knock it off. Here in Wisconsin they just made texting and driving illegal statewide and in Some cities even talking on the phone is illegal. As others have said, being able to prove it is difficult, but what they can do Is get your phone records and look at what time a message was sent in conjunction to when you got pulled over. If you say you weren't, then that is what they have to go on. According to him that is how the Indiana law is enforced.
