I'm running a RF T1500bdcp at 1 ohm to an AA Havoc 12. I used either 12 or 16 gauge speaker wire which is what came with the RF amp kit. Is that speaker wire sufficient or should I upgrade it to 8 gauge? I've been seeing a lot of builds with 8 gauge speaker wire so it had me thinking.

8 gauge is over kill use 12 gauge or 10 gauge OFC

Agree but if you have the money and some 8 guage wire laying around then i say use it or buy it but since you already have 12 gauge then use that. Thats just my opinion.

There is no such thing as over kill in audio

I only run 8 guage even for 1000 watts

The only car I have with 16 gauge is only running 100 watts

THIS

use 8 gauge if u can bro, but also consider it's some pretty thick wire and if you have to put two wires into one terminal on your subs(for series/parellel, etc.) you might have to get some reducers from radioshack like i did

Hey buddy, the havoc is 1250 RMS. Thx for all the replies. I'll swap out the wire for 8 gauge. I tend to go for overkill myself.
