I had to get an adapter for my ipad mini. 30 pin to lightening so I can use the same ipod cable I have been using. That has to be run up to the console. On the inverted subs, there is no support whatsoever for the basket lip, all of that weight is just hanging by the 8 screws. It was different when I had the 6s in there, the tc baskets are much stronger plus I was using 8 bolts and 8 screws per sub to hold them in. Mostly its a piece of mind thing for me too.
