Carbon Fiber Box, NEW AMP RACK PICS ADDED, Page 13!!!

Recommended Posts

if the car was to be rolled down a mountain then hit by a train and ran over by a tank .... ( with the car empty of course ) ... that box would still be in perfect condition !

Yeah, made bulletproof AND trainproof. Now watch me put the subs in it and it sounds like shit, and I end up having to hack it up. LOL(nervous laugh)......damn,......I sure hope not.

I'm gonna be well over $2000 in materials on the box alone by the time I'm done. Hell, the box will have cost me more than the subs that go in it! Plus my whole week worth of labor on it!

im sure it will sound good as hell !!! dont see why it wouldn't !

Just that evil devil on my shoulder haunting my thoughts, saying "It'll never work". I'm sure it'll be fine. I checked, double-checked and triple-checked everything. But I still can't help worrying a little bit. It's been years since I've built a sub box and this is my first ported box ever.

I'm loving this so far.your skills with wood are great, but your skills with the CF is on another level. I've never seen an approach like this. Question, do you think with how solid the box will be, because of the CF, it won't need any bracing(dowels or threaded rod)?

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Thanks for the compliments, but really I think I'm just average with the CF. Lots of guys out there with waaaay more skills than me.

I am thinking that between the design of the actual box, being a slot port right down the middle AND the CF, that I shouldn't need any bracing. We'll see if that guess is correct or not when those 18s start trying to beat their way out of the box!!!

NEW PICS!!!! FINALLY GOT SOME CARBON ON THE OUTSIDE!!!!!!

I covered the bottom and both sides with four layers. It didn't have to be perfect because these three sides won't be seen at all. I did it for consistancy and reinforcement. The top, back and front will all be made of four layers of one solid sheet and will look much nicer than these side!! AND those sides will get a nice glossy finish as well!!

Box is upside down.....
