FCsteve Posted January 12, 2008 Report Share Posted January 12, 2008 (edited) there is nothing better then that. my mom used to work in a fabric store so she sews like a god. i told her i was gonna glue some carpet on my seats and call it done. but she said thats disrespectful to my bimmer. she owns a car shop now. so she has my passenger seat right now and she is making my seats all black vinyl instead of my ripped tan leather. she only got the bottom and the headrest done while i was there. but it was all lookin mad good. FCsteve Posted January 12, 2008 Author Report Share Posted January 12, 2008 hell yeah! that's a hell of a deal. upholstery is pretty pricey from what i've seen ya. those guys are on serious drugs. one shop told me it would be 650 and another told me it would be 575 .. and i only have a 2 seater car, so all they had to do was the two front seats. its not like the vinyl costs more then 20 bucks for each seat so they are charging all that for the 2 hour sewing job. no thanks. free is for me. You got lucky man I'll tell you that much. it is essentially just sewing tho. my mom never did an interior on any car and she was able to do my passenger seat in a little over a day. those guys do it for a living so they can do both seats easily in one day with no problem. i give it to them that they can sew and all that. i know i cant. but their prices are so overpriced its not even funny. i could see if i was using genuine leather or like gucci fabric to do the seats, but to do 2 seats takes 4 yards of $9.99 a yard vinyl. and they were telling me prices over 550.
