Funny thing is, they stayed cooler on 3x rates power Then 500rms each.. Also ran my amps at .35ea (saz4500s x 4) but ive got the electrical for it, and know they can blow at anybtime.. I have done this, asked about Obsidian 18 handling 1700watts, because I had seen 1 ran on a SAZ3500, a few people told me it could handle 1700, some said they put about 1000-1200k on theirs but gets stinky, and others told me that I shouldn't consider putting 3x RMS to a 600w sub.....I asked because I have run subs at well over RMS before without problems but had no experience with Obsidian and didn't know what they were capable of handling.... like N8 mentioned there are always people on here saying "they can handle 1000-1500 all day" for 600w subs, and I still don't understand the .5ohm obsession, why not just get a 1ohm stable amp that does the power you want to run?
