But i don't think he is looking for a 400$ sql sub that would more likely be used in a single or double sub config thats made to sound AMAZING and get loud/low when on a different genre. I think big hoss needs something with stupid motor force, stupid cooling, and crazy lows. But thats just me. I would say tantric HDD's because i hear they take a shit ton of power. Do i think that custom built FI q's would be amazingly sexy? Sure. Are there 10 other recommendations in the past 3 pages that would make awesome subs, definitely. But after sitting in big hoss's truck… You won't hear all the nuances and stuff from a Fi Q, nor would the custom built price be justifiable. Or the wait. Some nasty overbuilt subs like zv4's, X's, or HDD's are what he needs IMO. See which one costs the least for him and put them bitches in there. Note… Not sure how x's would like 2500 watts each. If you saw the quote I got on tantric hd's and hdd's you would shit yourself lol, if the X's are like every other sundown sub ever made I doubt they would have a problem with 2x rms, I still have a month or so to decide on subs but I want something beast. The only thing keeping me from doing tantrics with out thinking twice would be how they do on the lows. I know the sundowns would kill below 25hz but I would be pissed if I dropped damn near 3k on subs and they dont get as low as the xfl's did, know what I mean? boom50cal Posted December 16, 2013 Report Posted December 16, 2013 There was a kid in a tan RCSB lowered Silverado with a Tantric HDD on a VFL200.1 in a center console box...ported up though. He played "Ain't No Coming Down" and it slammed the low note pretty well. Didn't seem as loud as what my 10 in my truck did though. Port arrangement is key though, in a regular cab.
