alaskanzx5
deadener is just for rattles but also helps a lot with sound quality. put some on your front doors and the front half of your roof and you will hear the difference. JMy CardomainFINISHED COBALT SS/SC DUAL ALTERNATOR PICS theres no such thing as too expensive when it comes to upgrades like that, because imo if you are gonna spend to upgrade then do it correctly rather then be a cheap ass ricer
OrzechNJ
u dont have to hit 150 to rattle ... No, I'm saying I am currently hitting 150 and would only need deadener if things start rattling from the abuse. And yes, I've heard the guys with cars that rattle like rocks in a tin can on probably less than 140. 150 with no rattle ... thats interesting .... ear2ear
Constraint Layer Dampers do not just remove "rattles". It reduces panel resonance. A rattle is where 2 pieces tough/rub/click/slap together. Road noise and other noise is transmitted through the sheetmetal that you don't even realize. My brand new truck didn't have any "rattles", but applying a layer of damp pro sure made a difference. It took road noise from a SHSHSH down to a shshshsh. Now my audio has less to compete with. WastedTalent
I'm not sure what you mean by "outside the guns on hood". Rollin with a few AK's strapped on the hood or something? But I believe Jon said that as long as the paper backing is still there and stuck to it, and the material itself is a little pudgy/sticky, should be good to go. OrzechNJ
I was thinking about gums lol. They protect that the water doesnt get in Edited September 15, 2012 by OrzechNewJersey Quote sometimes Loud is NOT pretty Sounds like its safe to go ahead and bend that ass over. WastedTalent
I wouldn't want to put it where water could get to it. Think it's main purpose is to be hidden and in a sense, weather protected. Deal with the heat and cold and such but not tsunamis and all. So if I'm even understanding "gums" rather than "guns"... lmfao, I would just keep it under panels and/or liners as it's pretty much intended.
