If worst comes to worse buy some 3m adhesive spray or the second skin spray and use that to stick it on. Aluminum won't corrode heavily unless exposed to salt water and butyl is unaffected. If the paper backing is still firmly stuck to the butyl rubber, that's a good sign. once it's dry, peel back a corner of the paper and test the stickiness of the butyl. if it's still sticks, it'll work fine. I know Damplifier is very water resistant, but this will probably be the ultimate test haha.
