jeep0312
I do not weld for my daily job but I have made money from welding. I am a mechanic. I have also built aftermarket Jeep parts that rely heavily on how well I weld. Including the winch mounts on my jeep I just sold. 2004 Malibu Classic http://www.stevemead...aq-25-jeep0312/ Kenwood 352U HU (2) Incriminator Audio Death Row 12'' Soundstream Tarantula 1300W MTX 6.5'' mids & Infinity 4x6's in front doors Building as money comes in... beauty panels and amp rack 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Traded for a 2004 Malibu 2wd-4wd conversion 4in. lift 32'' Tires 2 Alpine 6.5 in front 2 Sony 6.5 craploads in rear Build: http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 1999 Suzuki Sv650(Work in Progress)

jeep0312
If it were my car i would sand a bare metal spot on that bracket and put a clean bolt in and call it good. Metal 2 metal ftw.. If that isnt possible on that spot find somewhere else to ground to. Most people on here like using a bolt on the strut tower. I like anywhere structural that I can sand to bare metal. 2004 Malibu Classic http://www.stevemead...aq-25-jeep0312/ Kenwood 352U HU (2) Incriminator Audio Death Row 12'' Soundstream Tarantula 1300W MTX 6.5'' mids & Infinity 4x6's in front doors Building as money comes in... beauty panels and amp rack 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Traded for a 2004 Malibu 2wd-4wd conversion 4in. lift 32'' Tires 2 Alpine 6.5 in front 2 Sony 6.5 craploads in rear Build: http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 1999 Suzuki Sv650(Work in Progress)

StoneCold455
Ok i will record all of my headunit settings (disconnecting the battery deletes them) and then see what I can do with it. Still not a hundred percent sure if it is welded. It is ground that came with the car. I will take pictures of the progress.

MrClean636
If that is a factory ground spot, I'd leave that in tact like n8ball2013 said. But I would find a large enough, flat spot where a ring terminal would make full contact and sand it down so it's metal-to-metal. Pretty much what the consensus is on that. I always try to make as much contact with the ring terminal as I can, because why would you only want a small part of the ring terminal touching? Doesn't make any sense ya know? Good luck though!
