I do not weld for my daily job but I have made money from welding. I am a mechanic. I have also built aftermarket Jeep parts that rely heavily on how well I weld. Including the winch mounts on my jeep I just sold.

If it were my car i would sand a bare metal spot on that bracket and put a clean bolt in and call it good. Metal 2 metal ftw.. If that isnt possible on that spot find somewhere else to ground to. Most people on here like using a bolt on the strut tower. I like anywhere structural that I can sand to bare metal.

id leave it alone and consider it a factory ground and find better ones for the hrest of my runs.

If that is a factory ground spot, I'd leave that in tact like n8ball2013 said. But I would find a large enough, flat spot where a ring terminal would make full contact and sand it down so it's metal-to-metal. Pretty much what the consensus is on that. I always try to make as much contact with the ring terminal as I can, because why would you only want a small part of the ring terminal touching? Doesn't make any sense ya know? Good luck though!
