IH8PunkRok
the only problem with external HD is there is a slight bit of lag between it and the computer due to using the usb port but other than that they are very useful Quote -Matt2005 Dodge Magnum RTJVC KD-AVX1 2 PPI S580.2 Obsidian Audio ST1 Horn Tweeters PRV 8MB450s Audio Legion 3500.1D 2 RE MT 18s 360 ah LiFePO4 BatterySHCA 2/0 155.2 @ 29 hzKicker CVR 15's buildDD 3512e buildMini T-Line Build(6) 8s BuildNightshade 15s Wall BuildMagnum AB XFL 12s BuildNewest Magnum Build

Slinky
Actually they work really well. also im sure your friend never tried installing a game on one because i have installed countless games on mine and there is no lag. the "lag" he was talking about is prolly just the time it takes for the hard drive to spin up to speed but thats only like 2 secs and its not very noticeable. D_Bass
yeah just keep large file quantities to a minimun. it'll make it crash. just do lots of small files Quote To Slide Sideways Or Not To Slide Sideways? Neel
ummmmmm ok how are large files going to cause the external to crash? seeing as an external hard drive is the same thing as a regular internal hard drive...the only thing that makes it external is the case. external hard drives are just as reliable as internals, although i have seen a few external hard drive enclosures go bad, but the disk is still fine. For the most part speed of the drive is going to rely on the buffer and the rpm , most drives will run at 7200rpm and most bigger drives have a 16mb buffer.. aslong as your using USB 2.0 it will be plenty fast, firewire would be even better... AI James
i bought a 29.99 external sata /usb compatible case for my internal 750gb sata, it works great and i can run it from usb 2.0 or through a pci sata port.
