SCS_Audio
Also, a speed note for anyone using a 1.5" router bit. Not sure of the exact RPM but its suggested to stay on the low setting when using this bit. The outside of that bit really gets moving even on the low speed. BassHead810
Have you ever spent all night working on something the night before a show?? That's what ended up happening here lol.It was already after 2am early Sunday morning till we had the amp rack finished and in the car. The show was at 10am sunday and about a 3 hour drive. My subs weren't in and the box wasn't even sealed off yet so it was time to get moving.I wanted to try something different with sealing off the trunk with this box. I didn't like how I had to rip apart the seal if I wanted to try something different or work on the box. For instance I might wanna try putting different subs in this box or have the port layed out differently. So I came up with a way to seal off the trunk but still be able to remove the baffle.I got some more of the material from work and cut some pieces for each side of the box that needs sealed.Trim the material to the contour of the trunk opening and fasten it with a few sheet metal screws, just enough to hold the shape. Then some SecondSkin will do the rest.Unfortunately I only got one pic of this particular part of the process but the clock was ticking it was now after 7am.We decided it was sealed off enough for now and we would take some SecondSkin to the show and finish it there if we had some time. Getting the subs in was a little more important! lolSweetnessIts now after 7:15 and we need to get the port in and get ready to go. Looks like we're gonna be a little late. Here's a pic from the show after we finished the seal off process. We literally didn't have any time at all to test it! The first time it was on the meter was in the lanes at the show and I burped 3 different frequencies. Someone at the show managed to get some footage. My car is the first one in the vid. I had no clue what it was gonna hit but was hoping it would be up from the old score of 148.3This was sealed on the dash IASCA IDBL Its louder! And here's my MECA Park n Pound run. For those who don't know Park n Pound is a 30 second average on music and they place the meter 6ft outside the car.I'm peaking at 45hz. Everyone was down by a few db in park n pound at this show so I think it was a pretty good score. I beat the second place guy by over 7db.Edit: If the link doesnt work right my run is at 7:04 in the video My 150+ Trunk Build Log Current Setup2 DC XL15's Crossfire XS-8K AudioControl Epic-150Mechman 250 amp altXS D3100 under hood 2 XS D3100 in TrunkSecondSkin Sound Deadening - 120+ sq ft Damplifier Pro2012 North American Street Stock Runner-up - 150.9 on 1800 clamped watts 2013 dB Drag Street Trunk World Champion - 153.9 on 3200 clamped Watts 2013 MECA Trunk 1 World Champion - 152.8 Headrest 2013 MECA Park & Pound 2 World Champion - 130.6My youtube channel (click for Hairtricks) Team dbAddicts Team DC Audio dcsoundlab.com
