bighossf150
I'm around 4 db louder clipped compared to when I set my gain with my dd1 but the subs get smelly within 15-20 seconds. Used to have a loud truck 2009 Corvette Z06, H/C/I, 150 shot, g force tune, 730rwhp/690rwtq 2013 F-150 limited, MPT Tune, leveled on 35"s
will77530
use the -10 db setting for bass and you should be OK and give him the output he wants. i always use -5 on mids/highs and -10 on bass personally. i believe thats track 5 and
SixTwoRado
I've experienced this as well tuning a few friends cars at school with my dd-1. I try not to sound like a know it all and explain that it may not be as loud now but it sounds way better than a really loud sub that's being clipped by an overworked cheap amp. My one friend is still convinced that the gain knob on his amp is a volume knob. He's blown three subs already. Wish he would let me help him out. Swordlordboy1234
Been there done that. For any of those noobies that use gain knobs as volume knobs I rec HIfonics 12's. they are like 30$ if you look in the right places... And when I was a super noobie I played them clipping on the head unit (past point of distortion) with gain AND bass boost all the way up for 2 full years. Never once got warm or stinky. Since I got real equipment I got my DD1 and just like Steve said I found the distortion points of my 1k and 40hz on the head unit using -0db... Then set my mids highs gains with -5 and my bass gains with -10. Just watch your voltage drop and enjoy clean sound My old YouTube channel : http://www.youtube.com/user/SwordLords1234?feature=mhee My old build log : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/161872-96-accord-b2-sundown-sky-high-dc-power-re-re-build-for-heatwave/page-37 My New Build - http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/207041-2016-mazda-6-sql-build/ 2016 Mazda 6 Touring JL Fix 86 - OEM signal correction B2 prototype DSP 6to8 B2 Ref63 - 3 way active set 2 B2 Class H quattro's 1 B2 Zero.5R @.5 2 B2 HNv3 12 d2 B2 SLIP40 - Lithium in the trunk Northstar Group 35 under the hood 100ft 2/0 welding cable 30ft 4ga welding cable 20ft 8ga welding cable All stinger OFC speaker wire Soundrive custom RCA's Tons of attention to detail....
