Joe X Posted December 8, 2012 Report Posted December 8, 2012 That was just to show you how much space was needed for a slot design around your dims, better measurements always help, Ill be taking a look at you thread and see if I can do anything, you can do the single 4" if you don't mind loosing some efficiency.

Thanks man. Appreciate it. Yah the width of 19.5 is a pretty sold dimension. I have space under that box design but it would be a lot harder to build because of the weird angles and roll on the back wall of the truck. So if the top is 14" and cant go more than 15" or so tall due to the angle of my seat. The box Im trying to build is really difficult to figure out since its going to be right against the angle of my seat. Plus my truck has a lot of odd curves and the plastic thing on the back with the jack makes it difficult. Im going to get more exact measurements and see what I can come up with for a slot ported design with at least 13" or so of square port area per cubic feet. Going to be hard though since the slot ports take up a lot more internal space. I might have to go down to like 1.6 cubic feet or something after displacements. We'll see.
alaskanzx5 Posted December 8, 2012 Report Posted December 8, 2012 Try to do a seeing like the one above bit with the port up firing on the passenger side t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
SixTwoRado Posted December 12, 2012 Author Report Posted December 12, 2012 Well you guys Im back to the aeroport idea again. I would just be way easier to use an aero. Im just struggling with getting enough port area. Think I would be fine with a single 4" aero for the SA-12 on 1,000watts. It would be about 7 inches squared of port area per cubic foot. Any more opinions. I could try and do 2 3" for a little more, but even then Im going to struggle with the length.
SixTwoRado Posted December 12, 2012 Author Report Posted December 12, 2012 Still messing with designs. I think I may be able to fit 2 3" aeroports if I add some spacer rings underneath them to keep the inside ends over 3" from the sub box wall. With this setup I can probably get just below 8 inches squared of port area per cubic feet. At least its better than 7inches. Dont know how much difference it will make. I would honestly rather just have one bigger port. Think Ill be fine with 2 3" aeros. I just cant fit anything else.
wcefai Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 On a side note I have one quick question. How are people extending 4" and 6" aeroports longer than the 17" that comes in the kit? I know some people will just use the flares for the port and use their own pipe or tube cut to what length they need

certifiednut Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 you can also buy more tubes and collars on parts express to lengthen them these orphans aren't going to feast on themselves
SixTwoRado Posted December 13, 2012 Author Report Posted December 13, 2012 Yah I think Im going to try again and see what I can come up with for a slot port box. I have plenty of room to work with really, but its all just kind of odd shaped since Im trying to keep it all behind my drivers seat in my extra cab truck. If I cant come up with a slot port design with enough port area then Im just going to go with the 4" aero. It will be way easier to do and tune it right. I'll just have to see if I get port noise. Ive searched all around the internet for a long time. A few have done 12s with just a 4" aero with mixed results. Lots of different opinions. I guess Ill just have to see what I can do. Would it be better to decrease the box size down some more to like the 1.7 cubed range? That would give me a little more port area per cubic foot.
