Radio Reception in Car is Horrible Anyway to Fix?

Recommended Posts

The radio reception in my car is really bad and its definitely the car not the station. I have checked in multiple cars in the same spots and my reception in my car is just terrible, stations go in and out and there is just a shitload of static.

Does anyone know why that would be?

antenna may be shot. Take a piece of wire about a foot long. twist up the end and stick it in the antenna hole. move the end of the wire around see if it improves your reception.

It's a Honda with no visible exterior antenna. But like Nate said, antenna/antenna cord may have been damaged somewhere along the line. Have fun digging that bitch out from behind the glove box Dre!! :D

Stock or aftermarket HU bro?

Have ya looked into XM/sirus???..

I like my XM for sports and stern... And its crystal effin clear.

I only use it in the morning to listen to a specific morning show and its my stock HU now. My 80prs just came in and I don't want to install this HU without figuring out the reception issue. The same thing happened when I had my Clarion and JVC in as well so I know its the car itself. I never cared before because I always used my iPod or my phone and when I wanted to listen to my show I just went to the website on my phone, now that I am using a BB that is no longer possible.

So then my next question is should I purchase something like this...http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_32860_Metra-44-UA44.html and just run it instead of trying to fight my car to fix the issue.
