Oops, way to early in the morning for me then. lol

Ya you'll need quite a bit of electrical upgrading with a nice battery bank to go with that.

no not really try an stay above 12 13 if possible 11 is getting pretty low an with most digital meters there too slow to give actual readout so if it says 11.3 you may actually be at 10.9 or so an risk messing it up in my opinion you already spent alot just wait an upgrade your alt an get a few more batteries before install or risk throwing away all the money you spent so far

I still think, but maybe I'm wrong. I could use the amp but just at a low capacity. I believe I got a very good deal on the amp and I had an idea. With the woofer connected and a 40hz test tone. I will turn the head unit up to the highest undistorted level then proceed to turn up the gain until the voltage drops to 13. Also ensuring the signal is clean. When I get a new alternator and batteries I can see how far I can turn up the gain.

You got a ridiculous price, I saw 2 for sale last year over in the states for 1600 apiece.

I don't think your electrical will support it though unless you have a big battery bank.

8k on a stock alt is iffy.

i shook this one kids hand and it just folded in mine. long story short i fucked his girlfriendso.. yeah..

i suggest get better electrical do what you may if you want hook it up go for it but 8k stock electrical isn't gonna happen you couldn't even run 5k on that but like i said do what you want its your money to throw away but to me seems like a big risk just to put your system in to play it low untill you upgrade it would seem smarter to wait but do you

your a long ways from having the electrical for that amp. its either going to smoke or you are going to roast that poor sp4. Ive not seen anyone putitng 5k to one. 3.5k yes.

you better keep that amp turned down and run at higher impedence otherwise say goodbye to your power supplys. dd amps are very tough. you can beat the hell out of them and they will still run for you. you can give them 10 volts and it will work. and even if it doesnt smoke you gunna clip so easy. not many subs can take 5k daily. dont think sp4 can.

As long as you know how to take it easy with the amp and are careful, then there is no problem with running it in your setup as it is now. But I really hope you are planning to upgrade electrical eventually, otherwise it will be a big waste of an amazing amp.

I will also say I love my DD amp, it is incredibly efficient, so you should still get decent output with your stock electrical

Did not even think of that. Yes I will run the sub at 4 Ohms instead of 1 for now. I will also keep the gain turned down. I think first I will get one extra Optima Battery, then the new alternator. Probably at least one another Optima in the future.
