HDC3's in a 4th order?

I've seen a vid with 2 HDC3 18s in a 4th order, but everything I've read/heard says they won't do very well in a 4th because of the sealed section. If you're really wanting to try something crazy you might want to try a 6th order. Otherwise I would try tuning your box a little higher. 30Hz seems kind of low. I've had these subs give a nice flat response at 35Hz.

Their suspension is so stiff it would most likely fall on its face in a 4th order. And if you want to stay tuned at 30 I would get different subs or tune higher cuz the aqs have so damn stiff spiders. Just my 2 cents.

I'm sure you can get your hdc3s to play well tuned to 30 with some work but it would just be easier to switch to subs with a lower fs and they would probably out perform the hdc3s also

I've gotten a blowjob and picked up my iphone behind her back to see what email notification I got from smd before

HDC3s want a few things

1) LOTS OF PORT AREA

2) Big Box

3) More port area??? LOL

Bandpass is a no go, unless you do a 6th order. Suspension will limit you in a 4th.

Ami do you know why aq uses such stiff spiders? It seems like it doesn't have much benefit since

1. It requires a larger box.

2. Restricts applications.

3. Has a high fs which can really mess up a frequency response if you tune below the fs.

And 4 it seems like it puts more stress on the triple joint

I get that it eventually will loosen up and a stiff suspension can increase power handling but I just think that the average user would much prefer a looser suspension.
