Subs: 2 Dual 4 DC lvl 3 12's in ported box 34hz tune wired to 1 ohm Hu: Eclipse 5425 Amp: Soundstream pcx1500d
wmrcs Posted December 4, 2012 Report Posted December 4, 2012 You could give an Obsidian 12 a go. I know I've been wanting to! That'll leave you with like $150 for an amp so maybe find a good, used amp here. E34 540iT/6
severancej Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 Sundown E series subwoofer is a really nice and cheap buy, as far as amps go... maybe a rockford fosgate R500-1. 98' dodge ram 140A alt Big 3 XS D2700 JVC kd-r310 Rockford T500-1BDCP 2 Sundown E12 Ported 4cubes 35hz Rockford P400-4 2 Infinity reference 3way 6x9 2 Polk DB 5 1/4 2x layer dynamat all doors
ZachG Posted December 9, 2012 Report Posted December 9, 2012 I say a single 12 obsidian or even a 15. They hit nice and get like a 750rms amp, they are 600rms btw but they are underrated. & how do you only have 300$ if you sold 2 lvl3s and the amp , if you don't mind me asking 1998 Pontiac grand prix gtp supercharged2 12" Obsidain Audio V.1 on a 2011 zx1500.1 at 2 ohms. 20ft of Knuconceptz CCA 0 Guage. 2nd Battery is a Shurken BT-120. Gets low & loud Did a 140.5 Sealed at Battle of the boom in June 2013 dropping to 12.7v (need a alt mines going bad)
PistolPete Posted December 9, 2012 Report Posted December 9, 2012 You could do an obsidian 12 or 15 and a fosgate r500-1 or r750-1. It'll sound great in a good box! Make it loud, clean, and fun or just don't try!
Slobalt7 Posted December 10, 2012 Report Posted December 10, 2012 I vote a Skar VVX 10/12 B-stock and a Fosgate R750.1. Hopefully you have or will build a box because that is still pushing your budget. Yeah, it's slower than your bowel movements.
iKidwell Posted December 10, 2012 Report Posted December 10, 2012 I got 2 e-12's and an ap1500 for like 310 total and it's loud as shit for a $300 system... So therefore I say some e series or just 1 either oa10 or 12 c'mon now, if i was shooting an 8 year old, it wouldnt be MY 8 year old. i recently got a Pyle PL1590BL and i was building an enclosure for it tuned to 25 hz. i didn't have any tools to cut a circle so i hit it with a big hammer. 2003 Infiniti G35 Sport Sedan Build in Progress
SLAYER1805 Posted December 10, 2012 Report Posted December 10, 2012 Obsidian 12" D4 on one of these, I hear they're decent for the money http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_23874_MB-Quart-ONX1.1000D.html
ThirtyHz Posted December 11, 2012 Report Posted December 11, 2012 Sundown E series subwoofer is a really nice and cheap buy, as far as amps go... maybe a rockford fosgate R500-1. Good choice on the e series, im getting one soon. but that rf 500-1, i owned it for about a year and hated it. i just sold it with my p2, and i just ordered a brz1200. the rf isnt a class d and burns up in the summer months leading to MANY thermal shutdowns. plus i wanted steeper crossovers. the r500-1D is a better option though. i dont mean to shoot your idea down, but i just wanted to advise against it from experience
