Can my alternator properly charge my batteries?

Recommended Posts

Not that it's smart to do, but i run a group 34 marine battery and 2 shuriken bt20's on a stock 90 amp alt. I still rest at 12.8 over night even after a hard beating. So im guessing my alt is managing to keep my batts charged. I'd say you should be okay. I'd get some input from other though.

Youll be fine.......

I think you'll be fine as well.....but.....

How about some facts/numbers to back this up? Does anyone know what an alternator's limits are for keeping your battery bank charged? Does it have to do with the amperage the alt puts out?

Sometimes I wonder if the electricity bill is high because I keep my charger on my batteries 24/7. When my car is parked in the garage it's charging D2400 and XP3000. When I'm driving somewhere, the charger is charging my yellow top.
