Amart88 Posted January 11, 2013 Report Posted January 11, 2013 I was gutting my blazer today to run some wires and I noticed that there are are some rust spots under my carpet and around seat bolts. While the carpet is out I want to fix them up. I was going to use a wire brush on a grinder and clean them up and was wondering what would be best to paint over them with? Some people said use rustoleum and others said spray some bedlinder over the floor. I want something that will be permenant, help stop the rust but I also want to install some sound deadner when I'm done so i am not sure what I should use. ProMaxx316 Posted January 19, 2013 Report Posted January 19, 2013 I vote for the POR-15. Best stuff ever. I seen a co-worker put it on a frame for some truck. The one thing my co-worker friend can say is For the love of god do not get it on your skin. The only way to get it off is time, or fillet some of the skin. To my understanding to with POR-15 is you clean a good amount. Dont have to go to bare metal, and apply the kit and you're good to go. Even on minor rust you can paint it right over and it stops it in its tracks. If it's worth building, it's worth over building.
