at what voltage will your car start to die playing full tilt?

Quality is all in how you take pictures ;) I have plenty of projects that look WAY better on camera then in person :D

crazy to fit so many in so little. Reminds me of some of the porns I've seen?

I don't go below 12.0 ever. It's harmful for all components in your vehicle, including your amp.

But why is it harmful? I don't think I've ever seen an amp blow where the cause can be directly linked to low voltage.

Low voltage causes components to heat up, and short. Amps blow all the time directly from low voltage.

I may be mistaken but I believe the power supply on the amp is one of the first to go from low voltage?

Taking it a step further: what causes the components to heat up? Why would low voltage create heat? Especially in your typical amp with an un-regulated power supply, where it would be drawing less current too

I wish I knew the technical answers to your questions. I would contact dbr or any amplifier repair facility for a correct answer lol.

I wish I knew too. Everyone I've ever talked to can say it is, but can't say why. And that's what I've always been chasing after hahaha

Done with the thread jack. Sorry OP!

I've always wondered about this too. Never been able to find a good explanation as to why it is harmful, but it seems like 12.4v is what everyone says

That's pretty much the number I try to stay above. It only goes that low when my car is not in motion with the Singer Alternator. As long as my car is in motion the voltage is pretty much at 13.6-14V
