I like it. My buddies have XD's and I want one so bad!!!

So you spray painted the tactical color?? How will that hold up if its just painted. I know they come in a similar color for a extra hundred iirc

I used a product called duracoat, finish specifically for firearms. I spray it on with an automotive style spray gun set up ran off an air compressor. It is steps beyond krylon in terms of durabilty. If properly done duracoat is a very tough finish. Shortly Ill be using another product called Cerakote which has to baked on, but is much times stronger than duracoat even.

The Factory guns were available in FDE or Olive green frames iirc. slides were stil black though.

Just shot a XD40 subcompact yesterday. How do you think the recoil on the .45 compares?

Sick gun man!

Im a bad guy to ask about recoil, my answer is the same every time "its not bad".

But in reality, the two calibers have, IMO, very different recoil pulses, the 40 is a very snappy crack, while 45acp is a slower push, strong, but not as sharp feeling to me. This gun, especially with the light hanging off it is pretty mild. I think Id rather shoot the fullsize 45 than a subcompact 40...
