They have plenty of midabass, and sound amazing for what you pay for.

Do they come in 4 ohm?

Up to $300 but to spend at the top end of my budget they have to be proven to not suck lol

Just cause they are 2 ohm doesn't mean they'll sound bad, that just means they'll make and take more power. Anyone that has heard them will say the same thing about how good they sound and the power they are capable of taking, now that doesn't mean they'll outperform a hertz hsk set, but for what your paying for they sure as hell sound very damn good.

You could get the Rockford PPS4-6's and buy one of their tweeter kits.

Idk how the crossover setup would work with that though so might come out a little much if you have to buy new crossovers.

Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist?

I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself

but what has drawn your attention

in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space

Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears,

thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.

He's looking for components, not pro audio

Here is another set that is amazing but is just a tad deeper than your wanting but if you can use a 1/2" mdf baffle to bring the speaker out farther these will be within your budget.

That's the problem, I can't space them and keep them in the factory locations. I am so dead set on the factory mounts because it looks clean and provides good foot/water protection. Also the speakers being in the lower front of the door panel makes for excellent staging especially with coaxs surprisingly so I would prefer to run a convertible or coaxial set.
