They have been making cars for a LONG time with similar shadows because it works. Too much blingy bullshit will hinder that, it's like raising the roof decreased dag -1, using standard corvette tail lights increased drag +2. Think about it that way. I hated when they got rid of the pop up headights, but they gained like 4-5 mph because of it. Dont worry, gm had a plan when they designed and built this car. They're not winging it.
