tuning a ported box depends on the size of the box, and the size of the volume. typically, given the square inch size of the port, making it longer will lower the tuning. most boxes around here are tuned to low to mid 30's. the bigger the box...the bigger the port.

EDIT: the formula can look weird and intimidating. but if you know what all the variables stand for, then there's nothin much to it but basic math. there's lots of people to help here, and a thread dedicated to port tuning and such. what subs you plan on running?

EDIT EDIT: and welcome to the site btw :)

does anyone know the formula? and for which sub im gonna use, im kinda lost. i looked on this forum for a couple weeks, and it seems like alot of people like using the Re or the FI subs. im planning to do a system for my 03 LS430. trunk space is good, i basically just want something loud and hard hitting, its either gonna be 2 12" or 1 15", still undecided

here's the formula for it

TuningFormula.jpg

just break it down with each variable and it's not as hard as it looks. i also have a program to figure out round and square ports. just input dimensions and it'll figure the tuning
