bassfreake
http://www.math.com/school/subject2/lessons/S2U1L2GL.html When expressions have more than one operation, we have to follow rules for the order of operations: First do all operations that lie inside parentheses. Next, do any work with exponents or radicals. Working from left to right, do all multiplication and division. Finally, working from left to right, do all addition and subtraction. yea I thought so Thanks I was pretty excited about the alt myself. kind of like a school girl, in a dress, on a swing. lol It's warming up enough that the donut-punching cyclist douchenozzles are getting their two wheeled fagmobiles out. CJ18
What is the correct order of operations? Why use it? What is PEMDAS? The order of operations in which one is to interpret a mathematicalexpression such as "2+3 * 5" is a convention. Thismeans that a long time ago, people just decided on an order in whichoperations should be performed. It has nothing to do with magic orlogic. Some people decided to adopt a way, and it has stuck ever since. It just makes communication a lot easier. Another way of saying this is that rather than being inherent in thestructure of mathematics, the concept of "order of operations" is amatter of mathematical notation. Order of operations refers to whichoperations should be performed in what order, but it's just convention. The notation tells you which operations to do first, not something aboutthe underlying mathematics. To remember the conventional order of operations, you can think of PEMDAS (You might remember this as "Please excuse my dear Aunt Sally.")1 Parentheses Exponents Multiplication and Division Addition and Subtraction This means that you should do what is possible within parentheses first, then exponents, then multiplication and division (from left to right),and then addition and subtraction (from left to right). If parenthesesare enclosed within other parentheses, work from the inside out. 1Some people are taught to remember BEDMAS: Brackets Exponents Division and Multiplication, left to right Addition and Subtraction, left to right Here are two examples: 3 + 5 x 7 = ?3 + 5 x 7 = 3 + 35 = 38(1 + 3) x (8 - 4) = ?(1 + 3) x (8 - 4) = 4 x 4 =

kickass audio
CJ is right its 1. Again order of operations goes from left to right and is as follows Parenthesis Exponents Multiplication Division Addition Subtraction And If you are working within the parenthesis with multiple operations the rest of PEMDAS still applies. For example you would check for any further parenthesis' and solve them from left to right, then you would find and solve exponents, multiplication, division, addition and subtraction until the parentheses were solved.
