Hellbilly429 Posted March 2, 2013 Author Report Posted March 2, 2013 Thanks Joe, went to go buy it off sonic tonight and they were out of stock on the onx4.60, so I pulled the trigger on an onx4.80 and a 100ft roll of ofc 16 gauge speaker wire, hopefully the amp is the same quality with more power 2018 Honda Civic Sport Hatchback (build in progress) NVX Sound Deadener (Front Doors) Stinger FAST Rings Stock Electrical SSA Evil 6.5's Front Speakers Stock rear speakers MB Quart ONX4.80 speaker amp Rockford Fosgate T-1500bdcp DC Level 4 12" D1 @ 2-ohm Box In Design Stage Stock RadioMy Build Log
Joe X Posted March 2, 2013 Report Posted March 2, 2013 Thanks Joe, went to go buy it off sonic tonight and they were out of stock on the onx4.60, so I pulled the trigger on an onx4.80 and a 100ft roll of ofc 16 gauge speaker wire, hopefully the amp is the same quality with more power The 4.80 will do great, take some time to read on the amp's filters, you may probably want the 6x9s to handle midbass so hi.pass them at 60-70Hz. next is setting the gains properly in both the sub and the speakers amps.
Hellbilly429 Posted March 2, 2013 Author Report Posted March 2, 2013 Yes, I will definitley read up on the amp before I install it. Once I get my sub amp back from warranty I think I will look for some demo video's on how to set that thing because it has some differen't things on it than any other amp I have ever seen and the manual that came with it was more concerned with being humorous than helpful.... Hellbilly429 Posted March 3, 2013 Author Report Posted March 3, 2013 Yeah, I have tested my alternator several times to make sure it is good too, battery is in the back with only a stock run of 4 gauge to the front, I haven't had a chance to make sure that my new battery is keeping it's charge up as my old battery kept dropping overnight from when I would charge it to 100% with a smart charger down to %70 or less, and that was when I had no amps hooked up to it. Swapped the battery for an Optima Yellowtop recently and my gas mileage actually went back up. Gonna test it tomorrow if I remember and make sure I don't have something draining my battery elsewhere, but I doubt something would drain a battery %30 overnight and %10 in about 5 minutes, so hoping swapping the battery will have improved my electrical to keep up with my system. Just gotta get my big 3 done and hopefully be good for a while. 2018 Honda Civic Sport Hatchback (build in progress) NVX Sound Deadener (Front Doors) Stinger FAST Rings Stock Electrical SSA Evil 6.5's Front Speakers Stock rear speakers MB Quart ONX4.80 speaker amp Rockford Fosgate T-1500bdcp DC Level 4 12" D1 @ 2-ohm Box In Design Stage Stock RadioMy Build Log
Hellbilly429 Posted March 3, 2013 Author Report Posted March 3, 2013 Btw I did check the manual for this deck, seems like it's just a cheap pos with limited eq abilities... CW06Silvy Posted March 3, 2013 Report Posted March 3, 2013 Build a 4th order and make it play pretty flat.. That should give you sealed responsiveness and some volume.. Hellbilly429 Posted March 3, 2013 Author Report Posted March 3, 2013 Yeah, I would say a 4th order would be a last ditch effort, and before that I would change everything, lol. I like having some trunk space, plus I love the fact that when I play something low everybody bitches that the pressure is hurting their ears 2018 Honda Civic Sport Hatchback (build in progress) NVX Sound Deadener (Front Doors) Stinger FAST Rings Stock Electrical SSA Evil 6.5's Front Speakers Stock rear speakers MB Quart ONX4.80 speaker amp Rockford Fosgate T-1500bdcp DC Level 4 12" D1 @ 2-ohm Box In Design Stage Stock RadioMy Build Log
