Krakin Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 Sundown makes shallow mount subs? Just went through all their products including the discontinued ones and didn't see any. Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.

CleanSierra Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 The SD series are very shallow, that's possibly what he was referring to. The 8" and 10" are 4.75" deep and the 12" SD is only.5.25" in top mount depth. OP, my is go a single 10" or 12" sub ported, or 2 8"ers ported as well. That's my opinion. S-10s don't have a lot of room behind the seat, period. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
bigmescan Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 the sa 8 you will atleast have to have the box 8 in deep for box...and im not sure how room is behind an s10... i run 3 sa8's now... White Lightning Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 Looking for suggestions on wat kinda system to fit behind the seat and be pretty loud on a budget. Was thinking on some sundown shallow mount 12s i found on the net and a 1500 watt audiopipe d class mono block amp. Looking for other suggestions on subs amps and enclosures to get good results. any help is appreciated. im pretty dead set on 12 inch subsYou would have much better luck with 2 10s ported and tuned ... and I Would save up more money and put some real power on those subs (my apologies, but I do not consider Audiopipe "real power" in any way) Kenwood / HELIX / Linear Power (For The Love Of Music) / Brutal Sounds / OverKill Electric Co Questions About Sound Quality ?? HowLowCanYouGo Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 What if you forget behind the seats? Maybe just do some shallow mounts 10s or hell 12s in the doors. Im not the person to ask about that but it could be pretty sweet. Then if you want just put 2 8s behind the seats? It would be different. Nothing for now... Did you get that scar tissue when you got your vagina installed? I'd grab Adam's ass and look him in the eyes for a demo of nates truck.
REVOofRustler Posted March 12, 2013 Report Posted March 12, 2013 You might be able to do a nice center console box for a couple 8s. Maybe down firing and ported to the rear? 2002 Dodge Dakota 4.7 club cab - Sold 2004 Audi S4 Avant - Fi and Crescendo - Stock Bose System - http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147725-2002-dodge-dakota-end-of-the-road/?hl=%202002%20%20dakota 136.4 Sealed @ 29hz 137.0 Drivers window open @ 26hz
mxfreak22 Posted March 12, 2013 Author Report Posted March 12, 2013 The subs i saw said shallows but were still a mounting depth of a hair over 5 inches which is less than the others i found from sundown. Im running 10s now in a bigger box so i believe i could fit the 12s and have bout the same room i do now but how to build the box to the correct cubic ft and rather to port or seal and 1 12 or 2 are concerns i have
