You're studying vibrations so another great topic would be to discuss reflections. Yes in the middle of the classroom, the output will be much less. Move the box to the corner of the classroom and I'll guarantee that it comes to life. Its called "corner-loading". The corners of that room will reflect the sound waves and give you some gain. The exact same principle as "cabin-gain" in a car and why the sub-boxes are that much louder in a car then in a big room...the interior of a car is ALL corners. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if he corner loads off of one corner, won't the only gain he will see is by standing directly diagonal from the loading corner? under construction I hate People with crappy primered cars rolling on hubcaps that are louder then me. u hate c-fizzy?

Yeah, you'll probably notice the most gain from the opposite corner (where the reflections are collecting and getting reflected again), but overall you'll notice a gain in output. Same principle when using a home theater subwoofer. Its recommended to place the home-sub in the corner of your living room to give you the most output.
