sundownz
Our ETA is roughly the end of June on these; as always this can vary a bit based on parts supplier production times, transit times, customs times, etc. Based on our average shipping time that is our best estimate.That being said this pre-order will ONLY be open to the public until April 15th, 2013 -- OR until a given size / coil configuration sells 50% of the quantity being produced. I do not want to be out of stock instantly so we are running this much shorter than our other pre-orders.This pre-order is for the USA ONLY -- check with your distributor if you are outside of the USA; if you do NOT have a distributor in your country you can check with us. The below rates are shipping in the continental 48 states; e-mail us or your dealer for AK or HI pricing.Pricing as follows :PART # // REGULAR MAP // PRE-ORDER RATEX-10 (D2/D4) -- $329 -- $280X-12 (D2/D4) -- $349 -- $300X-15 (D2/D4) -- $389 -- $330X-18 (D2/D4) -- $409 -- $350You can pre-order from any participating local or online dealer OR directly with us via Paypal to [email protected] -- you MUST include a note stating EXACTLY what you are ordering.As is typical with a pre-order the sale is final ; make sure you are not placing yourself in a bad financial situation by pre-ordering. Do not pre-order if you are on a tight schedule ; the dates are NOT set in stone. An adjusted date is not considered a valid reason to request a pre-order refund. If you have ANY doubt about waiting or your financial situation DO NOT pre-order.----------The X series is our 1250 RMS rated line -- they feature a 3" diameter CCAW round wire coil and our new frame, spider, surround, and cone platform. Linear x-max is around ~30mm one-way by 70% BL with a total mechanical clearance of 50mm in the motor.These woofers are designed excel in high output DAILY low frequency applications. If you are looking for a burp driver or a driver to excel on “higher” bass frequencies; this is NOT it. We will offer SPL burp style re-cone kits for them at a late date – but the stock format is not made for that.* Z v.4 12 on the left and X-12 on the right.* Z v.4 12 on the left and X-12 on the right.* New terminal blocks !* Essentially looks like a "mini-Z" style motor... 190mm magnet vs. 220mm on the Z series / 66mm tall stack vs. 75mm tall stack / thinner steel / less expensive round wire coil vs. flat wire in the Z, etc, etc.----------Preliminary Specifications :** The production models have a stiffer surround which will result in an FS about 5-10 Hz higher, higher Qts, etc. They will also have a slightly tighter gap which increases the BL a bit **X-10 D2:Re : 3.63 ohmsFs : 27.9 Hz (Stiffer Surround = 32 Hz)Qes : 0.43 (Stiffer Surround = 0.49)Qms : 4.7Qts : 0.39 (Stiffer Surround = 0.45)Le : 4.11 mHSd : 366 cm^2Vas : 19.47 LBL : 21.67 NAMms : 317 gCms : 102 uM/N (Stiffer Surround = 75.16 uM/N)Sens : 81.66 dB 1w/1mX-10 D4:Re : 5.96 ohmsFs : 29. 15 HzQes : 0.54Qms : 5.26Qts : 0.49Le : 6.14 mHSd : 366 cm^2Vas : 19.06 LBL : 24.45 NAMms : 297 gCms : 100 uM/NSens : 81.14 dB 1w/1mX-12 D2:Re : 3.7 ohmsFs : 24.35 HzQes : 0.37Qms : 4.38Qts : 0.35Le : 3.76 mHSd : 457 cm^2Vas : 38.02 LBL : 22.35 NAMms : 333 gCms : 127 uM/NSens : 83.35 dB 1w/1mX-12 D4:Re : 5.84 ohmsFs : 26.43 HzQes : 0.48Qms : 4.48Qts : 0.43Le : 5.18 mHSd : 457 cm^2Vas : 34.38 LBL : 25.16 NAMms : 313 gCms : 115 uM/NSens : 82.96 dB 1w/1mX-15 D2:Re : 3.68 ohmsFs : 20.51 HzQes : 0.42Qms : 4.81Qts : 0.39Le : 4.00 mHSd : 729 cm^2Vas : 107 LBL : 21.79 NAMms : 422 gCms : 142 uM/NSens : 85.17 dB 1w/1mX-15 D4:Re : 5.78 ohmsFs : 20.88 HzQes : 0.52Qms : 4.94Qts : 0.47Le : 5.99 mHSd : 729 cm^2Vas : 103 LBL : 24.85 NAMms : 422 gCms : 137 uM/NSens : 84.34 dB 1w/1mX-18 D2:Data not availableX-18 D4:Re : 5.85 ohmsFs : 20.5 HzQes : 0.57Qms : 5.61Qts : 0.52Le : 5.92 mHSd : 1140 cm^2Vas : 237 LBL : 24.79 NAMms : 470 gCms : 128 uM/NSens : 87.22 dB 1w/1m----------PHYSICAL SPECIFICATIONS : Edited March 19, 2013 by sundownz 3 - Jacob Fuller - Owner, Sundown Audio - Sundown Audio on FACEBOOK - Please DO NOT PM ME -- use my email address -- [email protected]

kmak160
Jacob, so am I reading right that the mechanical limit (peak to peak) for the x series is 50mm? Just wondered b/c I saw that the vid of the 12" z says it has a peak to peak of 4" which would be close to 100mm. Just curious about the similarity in terms of excursion between the two lines. thanks, Kyle
Smurfboy
Very nice!! But.... Where's our little 8" subwoofer? Wasn't there a X-8" a while back or something? Just wondering!
sundownz
Jacob, so am I reading right that the mechanical limit (peak to peak) for the x series is 50mm? Just wondered b/c I saw that the vid of the 12" z says it has a peak to peak of 4" which would be close to 100mm. Just curious about the similarity in terms of excursion between the two lines. thanks, Kyle The X mechanical limit is in the motor @ 50 mm before the coil bottoms. We have 62.5mm in the motor of the Z v.4 before coil bottom -- in our in-car video it's seeing ~50mm or so. Beyond that it get's a bit too far beyond linearity and distortion climbs; but we do still have that extra room as a cushion from damage. Neither is linear up to that point but there is pleeeeenty of room for continued travel beyond linearity (less chance of damage, additional output, etc). - Jacob Fuller - Owner, Sundown Audio - Sundown Audio on FACEBOOK - Please DO NOT PM ME -- use my email address -- [email protected]
