Jbiddle530
alright so heres the question i have a box 2.5 cubes net volume built for where it is fitting in my car custom fit and everything.. tuned to 32 hz with 2 3" flared aero ports. the box is just about done accept for the sub baffle. my question is since my box would work perfect with 2 10s or 3 8s its a good amount of air space for either i am torn between the two. what would you guys choose.. say the woofer model and brand is the same. say kicker l7's for instance on a zx1500 not what i have but just wondering what would be your choice 3 8 l7s on a 1500 or two 10 l7s on a 1500??? as of right now though i have 1 treo tsx 10 dual 4 i am wondering if i should try to find another or if i should get 3 8s of some sort.. the amp is a kicker kx850.2 so there would be one sub to each channel getting 425 rms or more each.... if i was to run the 3 8s id cut a oval in the center divider and make it into a common chamber with a brace and still need to put the other aero port in.. going behind the seat of a 300zx.. Jbiddle530
We'll I only have 1.3 net volume per side is that even enough for 4 8's
Joe X
Better give your box dimensions, Im sure that does not account for port displacement. Anyways I would build around the subs I want, the MDF is inexpensive, going for 4 sa8 would be very expensive and would need 2K power at least. Smurfboy
I'd go with two tens. I don't know about you but I don't like "odd" number of subwoofers (excluding "one"). Kinda weird to see 3, 5, 7, 9, etc. subwoofers.
john253a
4 sa8 on 850rms would still hit hard, im running 2 on 400 and there no noticeable difference to the ear between that and 750 on 2, except the shame on peoples faces when the see only 2 8 on 400 and anyways he never say sa8 (L7 8 was mentioned) personal spend the $25-50 on some mdf get 4 e8v2 d2
