Mobileaudio25 Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 I don't wanna turn my hu all the way up with my small 3.5 kickers running off the hu when I use the dd1. If I fade to the rear so the speakers don't receive any power it won't effect anything with the dd1 will it?

You need to set your amp(s) according to the signal strength of the HU at the maximum point where nothing has started to distort yet, with the way you have it set up. Wheither it be the 3.5"s, the internal amplifier. or the signal output. Mobileaudio25 Posted March 20, 2013 Author Report Posted March 20, 2013 Once I get everything done with the DD ill adjust the bands and they are fine. Those 3.5s just don't like a lot off bass at all...

So are you suggesting that I set my amplifiers to their max gain before clipping at the point that my 3.5s begin to distort on the head unit and set my amps gains according to that volume number?

bcbrassard Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 Junk the 3.5" and get something better to DD-1 the amps with to maximize your system. Should set your system to the weakest speaker at the risk of degrading the whole system. just my opinion, seems like something is backwards here.

And I have an old school boss audio havoc amp running a set of sc6.5 Boston acoustic components and a set of t1 fosgate components. And then for woofers I have 2 DD3512s firing forward sealed off on 2500w rms... I'm only running the kicker 3.5s for a little more sound up front... I'll just turn the head unit up to where my kickers begin to distort and set my gains accordingly to that level of volume. Then my system will be maximized correct?
