Wicks
Am I the only one who thinks its the headunit? Lol I mean it bounces a little from the bass and my sub blowing wouldnt distort the fuck outta my speakers. Honestly it sounds like theyve blown too. It sounds that bad when you turn the volume to like 35/62. Could a dying headunit do that stuff? Absolutely it could be the HU. An amplifier is dumb, it only amplifies what its given. If you give it little garbage, it makes it big garbage. Connect a portable music player (iPod) directly to your amps and see what it sounds like. Lbox88
Yeah but thats 40 ohms and more resistance=more heat So you're saying, that higher resistance will always be equal to higher amounts of heat? Let's add a few more examples. 1ohm 20V signal ohm's law V2/R=P so (20 x 20) / 1 = 400W dissipated. on a 25W resistor, it would be instant magic smoke. Decrease in resistance will correlate to an increase in current, causing heat to build up faster to which the resister can not dissipate. Another? How about 400 ohms? 20V signal again (20 x 20) / 400 = 1W. Fat fuck 400 ohm resistor laughs at the signal it's fed. UBL | Build Log

knubs
have you checked your rca's? it could be as simple as a broken rca post. i had one crack and all my speakers started picking up engine noise and sounded shitty.
