scooter99 Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 Hey guys, Cleansierra and Ken, why for learning sake, is it bad to put the subs in with the resin fumes still in there? Kyle, glad you feel good about your parking spot, but I've been parking there for years! Man, serious talk though, it's looking killer. Props to Laura, your better half, for the great paint job! She kicks truckloads of ass! Lucky man you are! Looking forward to more buddy! Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build
tacomaguy1 Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 Did I really...sweet The fumes thing is like with sealing a box with silicone. The fumes off that can supposedly be bad for the subs surround or soft parts Maybe its the same with resin fumes Team Flex Issues
CleanSierra Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 Maybe it's not harmful, like silicone, but I wouldn't want to risk it. SP4s are too nice to be subjecting to any fumes of any kind. Those fumes are hardcore, and linger for a few days. If it were me, I'd hold off when the fumes are all around. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
scooter99 Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 Does it dry them out, or cause the glue to release separating them? I'm just wondering so I know when I do mine. I've never heard of this before. Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build
Pro7 Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 I heard someone say it might mess with the spiders if you mount it in resin or silicone fumes, but they mightve been full of shit. And I think you should go with three layers on the back wall. Forgot who it was but it was a big build and not their first one that said the back wall should be just as solid as your front baffle. I've gotten a blowjob and picked up my iphone behind her back to see what email notification I got from smd before
CortezDTV Posted July 23, 2013 Report Posted July 23, 2013 I did 4 layers I'd recommend 3 layers then 2x4 across the back 2 layers if u are gonna do the 2x4s with the 2 side against the wall so it's way stronger SCSB Santa Cruz Speaker Box Build logs: Daily Driver Lemon Marquis 2 american bass 750.1s 350.4 on 14 focal 6.5s sq 945 on 4 hertz tweeters Mystery subs http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 The Mustang 'dubbed' Shirley the project from bullet holes to badass http://www.stevemead...cond-skin-time/
