You Should not need any more convincing really. Put it this way, I was doing 149.4 sealed up in bassrace , Imagine 6 of those in your truck bro

well a fully loaded 15" btl is $469.

A hdc315 is $239.

If the 18 inch audioques are priced like fi (where theres only $30 difference from a 15 to a 18) the audioques will be way cheaper, not including if you can get a competitor price on them.

Id try the aq's you can always sell them and rebuy later if need be

Congratilations, that is the stupidest/funniest thing ive heard in a very long time!!!

I sub will play the same weather the coils are dual .75, 1, 1.5, 2, 4 ohm etc if giving the same power.

The coil impedance virtually has no compromise on sound quality (unless your building a SQ system, which if thats the case, neither sub will be good for a sq install compaired to some others on the market).

All the coil impedance means is what your amp will run at. Yes, the lower the ohm your AMPS are being played at causes a higher THD (total harmonic distortion). But even still having your sub amp being ran at .5, 1, or 2 ohm you will hear no audible distortion if your amps are set correctly.

You cant really compair a btl to a hdc3.

Why, because the prices are different, the specs are different. You are compairing a 2000watt peak sub (hdc3) to a 2000 watt rms sub (btl).

There is a couple videos on the net of a btl 12 compaired to a hcd3 12. BUT the amp was being played at a .5 ohm load for the btl, and a 1 ohm load for the hdc3. So the hdc3 is not even seening all the power that the btl was seeing.

The ab 500.1 puts out ruffly 4700wrms by 1 @ 1ohm with 14.4 volts, so at around a half ohm, it is at least putting out 5200+ wrms.

Me, I would choose the audioque because they are not used as much, and they are great subs. IMO Steve Meade FI Btl's as popular as they are, and many people think that you will be as loud as him if you get the btls which is completly untrue. The btl's are extremly great subs at a great price with great customer service however. There are other people that tried extremly crazy stereos like meade, using the btls and failed hardcore, but mostly because of their lack of installation which Steve has on lock down!!!

Either sub you chose will be good, most people are going to say btl tho.

I was under the impression that certain VC configurations werent meant to be played at low impedences and could potentially fry.....my mistake.

i've seen AQ get just as loud off less power then a BTL. But for the power you want to run daily i wouldnt recommend the AQ at all. The AQ WILL prematurely fail running that kinda power daily and the owner of the companies even said so.

You can't go wrong with either sub. Both use very high quality 3" coils and both have very good cooling designs. There is only so much power you can put to a high quality 3" coil and suspension design.

I have stated before and I will again that the life span of ANY subwoofer will be shortened if you overpower it on a daily basis be it an HDC, BTL, DD or any other brand. There are many subwoofers on the market today which WILL NOT take their RATED RMS power on a daily basis or even on a short term basis.

Power ratings on subs with almost identical parts vary all over the place and there is no standard in place that all companies use. Some of the ratings I've seen bear no relation to real world performance and probably came out of the market departments ass.

I rate our subs for the power it takes to make the sub to perform best without stressing the system by the average uneducated enduser. Our RMS ratings are based on clean signal ACTUAL WATTAGE the sub will see; not to be confused with RATED AMPLIFIER POWER before impedance rise.
