At 1ohm you won't be drawing near that .. Even the 7.5 at .5 will be maybe 6-700 amps .. I'd run what sounds best .. Also not sure how efficient an amp is at .5 ohm. I always heard that it gets terribly less efficient at .5 ohm versus 1 ohm so if most people think an amp is 70% efficient at 1 ohm I went with 50% at .5 ohm. AMI CUSTOMS Posted April 7, 2013 Report Share Posted April 7, 2013 OKay so here is some Facts for ya Ken 2 AQ3500s wired at 2 ohm strapped (1 ohm per amp) Dynamic music 700 amps max if clipping Burp 3 sec burst 800 amps max if clipping Now both of those numbers are dependant on box rise, could be a + or - 100 amps depending on final impedance the amps "see". That is also under the assumption you can hold 14.4+ volts, voltage drops amperage goes up a little as efficiency decreases, just like with clipping efficency decreases, cause amperage in rush and voltage drop if you can't supply the additional current. DC 7,5k at .5 Dynamic music 600 amp max if clipping Burp 3 sec 800 amp max if clipping Same above statement applies for DC amp as well. Hope that helps ya. 270 alt and 2 D3100s is not enough, you gonna drop into the 12s. Which is okay if you are fine with it.
