mejweez
hello everybody i want to make a ported box for 2 12" kenwood kfc-w3011 and am going to follow the recommendations on the manual but the problem is that there is a design for a 1 sub only and it's with a round port should i make two individual boxes or make two boxes with one common wall between them ?? will that make a difference ?? i will use a 3" pvc pipes any advice on how to prevent noise ? CleanSierra
Use 2 3" ports. 1 per sub should be just fine. Make sure you have the proper length to achieve the tuning you want. a single 3" port could very well cause noise, which is why I'm suggesting 2. Im currently running a single 12" sub with 2 3" ports and it sounds great. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
CleanSierra
Seal your port to the size of the box on the INSIDE where the port meets up with the wood. Do a roundover but on the outside of the port entrance(with a router) and that will flare your port. That will help for better airflow Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. CleanSierra
Also, you can have your subs in a common airspace chamber, it just needs to be the airspace for 2 subs. So if they need 1.5 cubes each, the box needs to be 3 cubic feet Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
Joe X
Those drivers will work better in sealed, heavy polyfill damping.
john253a
how much power you putting, what amp? sealed will work well so does ported, main factor recommend 37hz with 4sq" per ft with aero, personal that a bit low, but with only 11mm xmas idd do a single 4" per sub @ 2net (depending on power) and as for hz that all depends on what u want to achieve if you want look up psp ports you can get some nice flared port for not much coin
